About Duluth Family Medicine Clinic

Training Physicians. Serving Our Community.

The Duluth Family Medicine Clinic, in partnership with the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program, is dedicated to educating compassionate, skilled, and empowered family physicians. Our mission is to prepare future doctors to become the foundation of healthy communities—starting right here in Duluth, MN.

A Residency Program You can Trust

As a Residency Program

As a Graduate Medical Residency Program, our clinic is a training site where new physicians gain hands-on experience in family medicine. Residents provide care in our clinic, at specialty clinics, in nursing homes, and at both local hospitals—Aspirus St. Luke’s and Essentia Health.
Resident physicians work in teams and are here for three years. After each visit, they consult with a supervising physician to ensure every patient receives high-quality, thoughtful care. If your doctor is unavailable, another team member will see you, ensuring continuity of care.

Sick Visits and Same-Day Appointments

Fast Access When You Need It

A parent or guardian must accompany children to Well Child visits. If someone else will bring your child, please call our clinic in advance to ensure the proper paperwork is in place at time of visit.

Before the visit, parents complete a short questionnaire—available in advance through MyChart. As your child grows into adolescence, some questions will be directed to them, and parts of the visit may be done one-on-one with the physician to encourage open communication and self-advocacy.

We value your role and involvement—this process is part of helping your teen grow into a healthy, independent adult.

We’re proud to provide prenatal care and childbirth support. Two physicians will be assigned to you throughout your pregnancy and delivery. We deliver at both Essentia Health and Aspirus St. Luke’s, so you can choose the hospital that fits your birth plan.

We offer access to a team of providers beyond primary care, including:

  • Psychologist
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Pharmacists
  • Community Health Worker

This team-based approach supports your physical, emotional, and social well-being.
